Manage import containers and their landed cost
Record each container from booking to warehouse receiving: vessel, ports and expected arrival, its stages, and its landed cost allocated to the items. Your team enters the updates; there is no automatic tracking.
What this module does
A record and stages for every container
Vessel, ports, departure and expected arrival dates, and ten stages your team moves the container through: draft, booked, loading, in transit, at port, at customs, cleared, receiving, received and closed.
Container list and arrival countdown
Status tabs and a Kanban mode, a countdown of the days left to the expected arrival or overdue, and the landed cost of each container.
Landed cost
Record freight, customs, tax, insurance, handling, transport, clearance, storage, demurrage and other expenses, planned against actual and in their own currency, and allocate them to the items by value.
Shipping documents
Keep the bill of lading, original invoice, insurance, customs papers and certificate of origin in one place (PDF or image files up to 5 MB each).
Status notifications
Choose who is notified in the app when a container reaches a status you select.
Receiving into the warehouse
The receiving summary shows what actually arrived, and the container moves to received automatically once all its items are received.
Link to import contracts
Link containers to an import, transport or customs contract from the contracts module.
International purchase invoices
Link posted international purchase invoices to a container. Their lines become the container's items and their value moves from goods in transit to the container's own account, so every cost of the shipment gathers in one place.
Estimated cost before arrival
Enter planned expenses from the moment the container is created: they make no accounting entry. Distribute them over the items, and each item shows its supplier price, an estimated landed cost per unit and, later, the final one.
Finalize and close
After receiving, finalizing replaces the estimate with the actual posted expenses and adjusts the cost of the stock and of the rolls, without a new journal entry. A late expense can still be applied afterwards, and closing the container moves what is left on its account to inventory with one entry.
Differences on receiving
When the quantity received differs from the quantity expected, the accountant reviews each difference: accept it within tolerance (the expenses are spread again over what arrived), post it as an adjustment entry, or return the goods to the supplier.
Reserve goods in transit
From a container's items tab, reserve quantities of goods still in transit for a customer. Each item shows its reserved and its available quantity.
Updates are manual: there is no automatic vessel tracking and no live map.
